Headquartered in Hilliard, Ohio, e-Cycle is an environmental services company that helps organizations dispose of their wireless mobile devices properly and profitably. A trusted partner to financial institutions, government agencies, manufacturers, and thousands of other businesses, e-Cycle buys used mobile devices that still have value and recycles the rest for free through an EPA-registered, ISO certified facility. All personal information are thoroughly erased or destroyed using a stringent data wiping process.
With a zero landfill policy, e-Cycle is the only mobile buyback and recycling service in the US that holds e-Stewards certification. Since its establishment in 2005, the company has purchased or recycled over eight million devices, paid more than $12 million to its clients, and prevented over 240,000 pounds of e-waste from going into landfills.
Last year, CEO Chris Irion, who founded e-Cycle with his wife, Tonia, received the 2011 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Central Ohio/Kentucky Region in the Cleantech category and the 2011 Columbus Chamber of Commerce Small Business Award in the EcoBusiness category.
