Myron Cherry is Managing Partner with Myron M. Cherry & Associates, LLC, a trial law practice that focuses on areas of complex civil litigation. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the firm takes on matters throughout the country, with attorneys on staff licensed to practice in Wisconsin, Minnesota, the District of Columbia, and California. The firm’s caseload is largely undertaken on a partially or wholly fee-contingent basis, allowing plaintiffs to avoid out-of-pocket expenses when pursuing class action and commercial litigation.
Myron M. Cherry & Associates has undertaken a number of high profile cases in the past decade, including Ventas v. Sullivan & Cromwell (2006). This legal malpractice suit against a major New York law firm resulted in a $25.5 million pre-trial settlement, Mr. Cherry and his team were also successful in the $44 million Mansfield v. Air Line Pilots Association International (2010) settlement.
An L.L.B. graduate of Northwestern University who completed Harvard Law School’s mediation course, Mr. Cherry has more than four decades of trial law expertise. He gained national recognition in the 1970s through the drafting and implementation of environmental legislation at the state and federal levels.
Mr. Cherry’s experience in law emphasizes democratic processes, with past positions including Co-Chairman of the Democratic Business Council of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Trustee of the DNC, and National Finance Board member for President Clinton’s re-election campaign. In addition, he has twice received served as a member of the U.S. Senate Judicial Nominations Committee for Illinois. Myron Cherry holds responsibilities beyond his private practice as Adjunct Professor of Trial Practice at Chicago’s Northwestern University Law School.
