For one New York startup, Pinterest is more than just an inspiration board or online marketing tool – it’s also a great way to connect with clients and provide consultations. Jacqueline Courtney, founder of online bridal boutique Nearly Newlywed, uses clients’ pinboards to learn more about their style and make wedding dress recommendations.

According to Courtney, “Pinterest is great because it’s so immediate, it’s so easy to share and I think women can bounce around ideas and their inspiration very quickly.” She reckons not many other bridal shops are doing what her company is doing. “We are using social media to connect with brides and make the experience special and personal.”

Based in Brooklyn, Nearly Newlywed offers “nearly new” (worn only once or twice) designer bridal gowns and party dresses at a fraction of the original price. Brides can also sell their dress back to the company or place it on consignment after the wedding.
