On any given night in the United States, there are more than 600,000 people living on the streets or in homeless shelters. Through his work with mattress donation charity A Good Night Sleep, Josh Helland witnessed firsthand how prevalent homelessness was in Los Angeles County. Determined to do something about the situation, he started Sleep with a Purpose (SWAP), the world’s first for-profit social impact mattress and bedding company. Founded specifically to help end homelessness, SWAP donates a new mattress to someone in need for every mattress sold.

Sleep with a Purpose sells their high quality, 100 percent American-made products through various retail partners in the US and supplies beds to Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) organizations and low income housing projects. Shown to be the most sustainable solution to homelessness, PSH is a government-funded program that not only provides housing but also mental health services, employment, and more. Sleep with a Purpose aims to decrease homelessness in America, and eventually, around the world.
