After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School, Zach Yungst and Alex Lorton worked in finance and consulting in San Francisco. While there was no shortage of amazing chow in the city, they ate boring food at their jobs. Seeing an opportunity to disrupt the office catering business, the duo founded Cater2me in 2010 to connect San Francisco’s best food providers with the masses. Today, the company also has operations in New York and Chicago.

Unlike other food ordering sites, Cater2me focuses on quality, not quantity. Cater2me finds the very best restaurants, food trucks, farmers’ market purveyors, caterers, and chefs in town, then gets to know each vendor to ensure customers will get the best food and service possible. Cater2me handles all the details, including logistics, communication, and billing. Customers simply tell the company their needs and preferences and the Cater2me team will create a customized schedule of varied meals from across its vendor network.
