The world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy, and essential services for residential and business customers, ACN was founded in 1993 by Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Tony Cupisz, and Mike Cupisz. The four entrepreneurs had several years of direct sales experience between them but were unhappy with existing companies and job opportunities. Realizing that the only way to find their dream company was to create it themselves, they put together a business plan on a sheet of paper. On one side, they wrote down what they knew worked; on the other side, they listed what didn’t. They ripped the page in half and only kept the “good” side – this later became the governing principles of ACN, which include integrity, solid business practices, and a commitment to putting the needs of the masses above their own.

ACN started out as a reseller of long distance services in America. Today, the company provides the services people need and use daily, including phone service, local and long distance, natural gas and electricity, wireless, high-speed Internet, merchant services, television, home security and automation, and technical support. ACN currently has operations in 23 countries and offices in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.

ACN offers its services through its Independent Business Owners (IBOs), who come from all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. IBOs run their home-based business with the complete support of ACN every step of the way. Each Independent Business Owner gets their personal online store, which is provided and maintained by the company.

Recently, ACN received a Bronze Stevie Award in the Best Twitter Feed and Best Facebook Page categories at the 11th Annual American Business Awards. Previous accolades of the company include a Gold and a Silver W3 Award, a Telly Award, a DSA Award for Best Twitter, and three Platinum and six Gold MarCom Awards.
