Founded in 1992 by Daniel Shaw, High Touch High Tech has been providing interactive, hands-on science experiments and nature experiences for over 20 years, nurturing young minds and stimulating their curiosity.

Designed to develop a lifelong love of science, High Touch High Tech’s programs come to life in the forms of field trips, after-school programs, summer camps, holiday mini-camps, and birthday parties.

A scientist by training, Shaw has always been fascinated by science since he was a little boy. One day, his daughter came home from school and asked him for help in setting up her classroom’s booth for the school carnival. Shaw, a research scientist at the time, suggested doing fun science. He had a eureka moment and started High Touch High Tech shortly after. According to him, “Developing the programs was easy. All you need to do is spark curiosity.”

With a desire to make science fun for all, Shaw researched and interviewed teachers in the months that followed. He wanted to create a program where every student would roll up their sleeves and perform actual science experiments using real science materials. As the business grew, High Touch High Tech became a permanent resource in classrooms and franchisees came on board. In 1998, the company partnered with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines to provide fun science experiences on ships. In 2000, hotels and resorts began offering High Touch High Tech’s programs as well.

High Touch High Tech is now the recognized leader in innovative, hands-on science experiments for children, serving over 4 million kids worldwide each year.
